Multiplier Event - SMARTEnvi project results
On April 4th, 2023, the "Multiplier Event" was held at the Department of Waste Management Technology and Devices, where the results of the SMARTEnvi project were presented. The aim of the project was to create tools for intelligent decision-making in order to reduce environmental and water resource risks through the rehabilitation of open dumps.
Representatives from the public and private sectors, local authorities, waste management representatives from city offices, environmental foundation members, and engineers seeking employment in this industry were present at the meeting. A decision-support tool was presented to support rehabilitation decisions, which will be very useful for anyone interested in environmental protection. In addition, an e-learning platform was shown, containing developed modules and case studies collected from all project partners, as well as competency tools and other project results and effects. Thanks to the SMARTEnvi project, tools and a platform were created that will be very helpful in making decisions regarding open dumps rehabilitation, as well as in educating in the field of environmental protection. The project has gained recognition and interest from representatives of various sectors, which proves that environmental protection issues are becoming increasingly important and require an interdisciplinary approach.
