Dr. Agata Sage wins an international competition for the best doctoral dissertation!
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Agata Sage has been awarded 1st place in the category Health and Applications in Healthcare in the 12th edition of the Progres 3 Consortium competition for the best doctoral dissertation defended in 2025.
Her awarded dissertation is titled: “Methodology for processing acoustic signals and image data for the purpose of computer-assisted speech therapy diagnostics”.
As part of her research, Dr. Sage participated in the creation of the largest multimodal speech database of children in Poland (over 200 participants aged 4–8), designed original deep learning models, developed advanced methods for extracting visual and acoustic features, and conducted an extensive statistical analysis of articulation in preschool children.
The results of her research provide a foundation for the development of expert systems to support the diagnosis and treatment of speech disorders in preschool-aged children. Given the widespread nature of this issue, the research conducted by Dr. Agata Sage has significant social importance.
