Prof. Eugeniusz Świtoński passed away
With deep sadness, we inform you that on January 25, 2026, Professor Eugeniusz Świtoński, MDHCC, passed away. He was an outstanding scholar, a distinguished academic teacher, a long-time employee, Honorary Doctor of the Silesian University of Technology, and a mentor to many generations of students and doctoral candidates.
Professor Eugeniusz Świtoński was one of the initiators of the establishment of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology, the first such faculty in Poland. He was one of the most active and recognizable figures in Polish science, contributing significantly to building the national and international standing of the Silesian University of Technology.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
