OPUS grant for Prof. Joanna Czajkowska
Prof. Joanna Czajkowska received funding under the NCN OPUS-29 program for the implementation of the project entitled "Pathophysiological aspects of vulvar lichen sclerosus: multimodal study of skin architecture and its biophysical properties."
The project will be run in a consortium with the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań, which will serve as the project leader. The project, led by Prof. Adriana Polańska, aims to create a modern, non-invasive model for assessing the condition of the vulvar skin in women with lichen sclerosus. Current diagnostics rely primarily on visual assessment by a physician or invasive biopsy. There is a lack of objective, non-invasive tools that enable the early detection of the disease and the monitoring of treatment. The clinic's collaboration with our Faculty (Prof. Joanna Czajkowska, project leader at the Silesian University of Technology) will enable the development of artificial intelligence tools that, based on the analysis of multimodal image data, will accelerate and objectify the diagnostic process.
Congratulations!
