Project in the "European Funds for Silesia 2021-2027" program
We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering has received funding in the competition of the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship "Development of higher education in line with the needs of the green economy" under the "European Funds for Silesia 2021-2027" program (FESL.10.25-IZ.01-025/23, activity 10.25). The total funding is approx. PLN 14.7M.
From October 2024 to June 2026, we will implement the project "Development of the Silesian biomedical engineering potential in the face of the challenges of the digital and green economy (BioMeDiG)". It aims to comprehensively support the development of scientific staff and PhD students of the Faculty, improve the quality and availability of the Faculty's educational offer, support high school students, and intensify the transfer of knowledge and technology to and from the economy.
The following activities will be implemented within the project:
1) Supporting knowledge and technology transfer, particularly in the green and digital economy (including industrial internships for researchers in domestic and foreign enterprises, HUB in digital technologies in medicine, and practical training in domestic enterprises).
2) Increasing the attractiveness, quality, and availability of the Faculty's educational offer for the intelligent transformation of the region (including training for scientific staff in soft skills, shaping digital skills, and domestic student internships).
3) Equipping research laboratories (including nine specified labs and research stations for PhD students).
4) Supporting high school students (including training, workshops, practical classes, and individual mentoring programs).
5) Comprehensive support for scientific staff, including doctorates, particularly in green and digital economy (co-financing conference participation, publication costs, and individual support for PhD students).
