Silesian University of Technology supports future land surveyors! Patronage agreements signed
On September 14, 2026, at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, an official signing ceremony of patronage agreements for classes educating future land surveying technicians took place.
The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education at the Silesian University of Technology, prof. dr hab. inż. Anna Chrobok. The host of the meeting was dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Filipowicz, prof. PŚ, Dean of the Faculty. The meeting was also attended by dr hab. inż. Violetta Sokoła-Szewioła, prof. PŚ, Vice-Dean for Science and Cooperation, and dr inż. Aleksandra Mierzejewska, who has been involved in developing the Faculty's cooperation with secondary schools for many years.
Patronage agreements were signed with three schools:

Zespół Szkół Budowlanych w Rybniku, represented by Principal dr Katarzyna Wróbel and vocational surveying teacher mgr inż. Anna Gorol;

Katowickie Centrum Edukacji Zawodowej im. Powstańców Śląskich – Centrum Kształcenia Zawodowego i Ustawicznego w Katowicach, represented by Principal mgr Krzysztof Kurowski and Head of Practical Training Ireneusz Szylak;

Zespół Szkół Technicznych w Bytomiu, represented by Principal mgr inż. Artur Lubos and teacher mgr inż. Marta Gołąbek.
The patronage of the Silesian University of Technology opens up space for closer cooperation between schools and the university, knowledge and experience exchange, as well as direct contact for students with modern geodesy and the academic environment.
For young people, this is a chance to develop competencies, explore further education opportunities, and consciously prepare for their future professional careers. For both the university and the schools, it offers an opportunity to jointly shape the educational path of future specialists in the surveying industry.
