International cooperation of Silesian University of Technology students: Deposit modeling course in Spain
Between May 18 and 21 2026, as part of the cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and the University of Oviedo in Spain, 18 students from the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, studying Geoengineering and Raw Materials Extraction as well as Geodesy and Cartography, participated in the course "RECMIN: A TOOL TO MODEL DEPOSITS AND DESIGN OPEN-PIT AND UNDERGROUND".
The students had a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of solutions used in Spain regarding spatial modeling for their application in creating digital terrain models, and the use of spatial analysis methods for estimating geological mineral resources and optimizing exploitation works.
The course participants received certificates of completion issued by the Northwest Association of Spanish Mining Engineers.
