Students of our Faculty Actively Participated in the SUT Education Day
On May 12, 2026, the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) Education Day took place – a unique event promoting modern and practical teaching methods. Our students, alongside their academic supervisors, presented the results of projects carried out in the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) format as part of the "Excellence Initiative – Research University" program.

During the poster session, our students presented the outcomes of the following projects:
1. Geospatial data analysis: A project with Universiti Utara Malaysia concerning diagnostics in land management during crisis situations (Team: Natalia Zaręba, Mateusz Banasiak, Jakub Stanoszek, and partners from UUM).
2. Application of GIS systems: Analysis of the flood in southwestern Poland (2024) and the landslide in Batang Kali, Malaysia (2022), in cooperation with Universiti Sains Malaysia (Team: Oliwia Szweda, Kacper Kaczmarski, and partners from USM).
3. 3D and VR Visualizations: Creating interactive maps of floods and landslides (Team: Piotr Grodzicki, Aleksandra Rocznik, Oliwia Szweda, Natalia Zaręba, and partners from UUM).
Academic supervision for the above projects was provided by: Dr. Krzysztof M. Tomiczek, Eng., Dr. Aneta Grodzicka, Assoc. Prof., and Dr. Monika Żogała, Eng.
4. Video monitoring systems using artificial intelligence (Supervisor: Dr. Anna Manowska, Assoc. Prof.).
5. Recycled concrete. CO2 sequestration research (Supervisor: Prof. Małgorzata Labus).
6. GIS technology in the context of Smart Cities (Team: Dr. A. Bluszcz, Assoc. Prof., Dr. K. Tobór-Osadnik, Assoc. Prof., Dr. A. Mierzejowska, Eng.).
7. Detective Polish-Czech speech therapy game using AI (Supervisor: Dr. Daniel Adamecki, Eng.).
