Successes of Our Faculty Students at the 3rd Student Scientific Circles Conference of the Silesian University of Technology

During the 3rd Student Scientific Circles Conference of the Silesian University of Technology, students from our Faculty, representing three scientific circles—SKN Gwarek, SKN Bezpieczna Ściana, and SKN Agrimensor—demonstrated a high level of research and academic engagement, earning distinctions and recognition from the event participants.

A particularly notable achievement was winning 3rd place in the poster session by Oskar Snarski and Wiktor Korpak from SKN Gwarek. The awarded work, carried out in collaboration with Witold Gawron and Oskar Zagórski (3rd year, GiES), is supervised by Konrad Kołodziej, MSc Eng. The project entitled:
“An innovative wireless system for autonomous monitoring of gas concentrations emitted from post-mining shafts”
focuses on continuous monitoring of gas concentrations, particularly methane and carbon oxides, released from decommissioned coal mine shafts.

Representatives of SKN Bezpieczna Ściana also actively participated in the conference. Adrian Wróblik, Eng., delivered a presentation entitled:
“From spoil tip to green space – can AI design the environment of the future?”,
while the poster session featured the project “A Tree for a Graduate”, presented by Oskar Marek, Eng., and Adrian Zabielski. The initiative, which involves graduates of the Silesian University of Technology planting trees as a form of “micro-revitalization,” was very well received by participants.

Students from SKN Agrimensor also showcased their work. A representative of the group, Maciej Wojdat, Eng., presented a poster entitled:
“The city in a network: transport, mobility, and accessibility of services in spatial analysis”,
which aligns with one of the Priority Research Areas of the Silesian University of Technology—POB4: Smart cities and the mobility of the future.

Participation in the conference provided our students not only with an opportunity to present their research results, but also to exchange experiences, establish new connections, and broaden their knowledge in the field of engineering sciences.

We warmly congratulate all participants and wish them continued academic success!
