Studenci programu Erasmus z wizytą 800 metrów pod ziemią

On Friday, 23 May, international students visiting our University under the Erasmus+ programme took part in an extraordinary field trip to one of the nearby mines. As part of the Rock Mechanics course, they descended over 800 meters underground to explore the realities of mining operations.

During the visit, they had the opportunity to witness the excavation process using a modern roadheader, as well as the installation of roof supports, including automated roof bolting systems. The students gained firsthand insight into the challenging working conditions faced by mining engineers. Despite the noise, dust, and high temperatures, the participants remained enthusiastic — their smiles a clear sign of satisfaction with this unique experience.
