Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Education
of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation
She earned her master’s degree in Mining and Geology, specializing in Mining Organization and Economics, in June 1998 at the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Her thesis focused on a multi-criteria analysis of the state and structure of employment at Gliwicka Spółka Węglowa SA. In May 2003, she obtained the doctoral degree in technical sciences in mining from the same faculty, with a dissertation on the rationalization of employment in mining companies. In March 2019, by decision of the Faculty Council, she was awarded the degree of Habilitated Doctor of Technical Sciences in Mining and Engineering Geology for her research on selected aspects of human resources aimed at improving the organizational and economic efficiency of hard coal mines. She also completed postgraduate studies in occupational health and safety.
Since 1998, she has been associated with the Department of Management and Safety Engineering, currently Safety Engineering, at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.
Organizational activities
· Since September 1, 2020, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Education at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.
· Member of the Mining Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
· Member of the Council for Environmental Engineering, Mining, and Energy.
· Head of the Department of Safety Engineering.
· In 2017-2021, she served as Deputy Head of the Department of Safety Engineering.
· She has repeatedly served as the head of the postgraduate program “Occupational Health and Safety in the Enterprise.”
· Member of scientific and organizational committees of many national and international conferences.
· Since 2016, member of the University Disciplinary Committee for Doctoral Students.
· In 2017, she was awarded the “For Merit in Mining” badge.
· First-degree General Mining Director.
· Department coordinator for teaching loads.
· Member of the Education Council.
Scientific and research activity
Her research focuses on effective human resource management in mining enterprises and on occupational health and safety management. She has authored over 120 scientific publications—including four monographs, 16 book chapters, and articles in leading national and international journals in economics, mining organization, and occupational health and safety—alongside 37 papers presented at conferences in South Africa, Canada, Spain, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria. She has participated in national and international research projects, conducted statutory research, collaborated with industry, and completed four original design, construction, and technological achievements.
Winner of 6 awards from the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology for scientific activity.
Teaching activity
Award from the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology for teaching achievements. She has significant teaching achievements: co-author and participant in the development of new study programs, author of a handbook and several new course programs (lectures, seminars, exercises, and projects), also in English, for new full-time and part-time study programs and specializations, engineering and master’s programs at her home Faculty.
She teaches management and economics classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
She supervises students: she has supervised and promoted the completion of over 160 master’s and engineering theses.
In July 2018, she was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission for her teaching work.
