Cooperation

International cooperation

Thanks to the European funds for research, scientists have good opportunities to interact and build relationship with their colleagues all around Europe. Students participate in the Erasmus exchange program, which enables them to study or gain work experience in a different European country while completing a degree.
International cooperation is an important aspect of the Faculty, which actively cooperates with numerous international industrial partners. Agreements between the Silesian University of Technology and the companies, academic and scientific centres provide opportunity for the flow of technical ideas, whereas jointly implemented research projects raise the prestige of both the University and the Faculty.
Scientists of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, together with researchers of the University of Windsor, have developed a simulator of metallurgical processes, used for testing aluminium alloys for automotive industry. The simulator has been installed in the research centres of General Motors and Yamaha companies.
High level of the solutions developed in the field of electrical metrology is confirmed by numerous awards, such as Siemens Award for the work concerning precise comparator for checking group inductance standards.
Many international scientists and representatives of the worldwide industry are members of the Programming Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. This Council is the most important advisory body, whose main purpose is to exchange views and opinions regarding the content and quality of education at the Faculty. The Programming Council is chaired by the Dean.
