Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Electrochemistry RCH1

Today (May 14, 2026), the laboratories of the Department of Inorganic, Analytical, and Electrochemistry hosted another workshop entitled "How the Chemical Chameleon and Other Griffin-like Chemical Reactions Occur." This workshop was designed for students in grades 3-5 of high school who plan to pursue future studies in chemical fields such as chemical technology, chemical engineering, or chemistry. This time, students from class 3B of the Academic High School of the Silesian University of Technology participated. During the workshop, our guests learned about the physicochemical properties of transition metals in practice, using manganese and chromium compounds as an example. Participating in this workshop will likely allow participants to better prepare for their final high school leaving exams, particularly the advanced section, and will facilitate further study in chemistry and related fields at all universities in Poland, including the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology. The workshops on May 14, 2026, were led by Ms. Celina Pieszko (PhD. Eng.) and Ms. Joanna Bok-Badura (PhD. Eng.).

The workshops at our Department are organized as part of the Teachers' Club at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology, coordinated by Dr. Małgorzata Czichy, DSc. Eng., SUT professor.
