Dr. Eng. Artur Maciej graduated from his master's degree in 2007 at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology, majoring in Chemical Technology. In 2012, he obtained a doctoral degree in the field of chemical technology and since then he has been an employee of the Silesian University of Technology, currently as an assistant professor at the Department of Inorganic, Analytical and Electrochemistry Chemistry. Dr. Eng. Artur Maciej deals with the production of electrolytic coatings, surface modification of metals and metal alloys, and corrosion research. His research interests include anodic oxidation of zinc and its alloys, including recently the process of plasma electrolytic oxidation of these materials. In 2014-2017, he was the head of two research projects (LIDER, SONATA) on anodizing Zn-Ni and Zn-Co alloy coatings, financed by the National Center for Research and Development and the National Science Center. Dr. Artur Maciej is also very keen to solve industrial problems related to corrosion. He is the co-author of about 100 publications, and his h-index is 16
Eng. Agata Kołkowska is a student of the last semester of Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology.
Ms. Agata deals with chemical and electrochemical modification of titanium and its alloys, with particular emphasis on plasma electrochemical oxidation, for use in biomaterials and photocatalysis. She is the co-author of 9 publications. Agata has participated in many national and international conferences, presenting the results of her research, and in August last year in the Accelerators for Healthcare project, in cooperation with the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN. For her scientific achievements, she received the Minister's Scholarship for students.
Eng. Hubert Knap is a student of the last semester of Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology.
Mr. Hubert deals with chemical and electrochemical modification of titanium and its alloys, where the most frequently used technique is plasma electrochemical oxidation. An important part of his work is also the post-modification of titanium and its alloys in order to obtain bioactive properties. Hubert has participated in many conferences at the international and national level, and in May this year he completed a scientific internship at the University of King Juan Carlos (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos) in Madrid.
