Scientific conference "Electrochemical Methods in Corrosion Research (EMCR) 2022"

Last week (September 25-30, 2022) the international scientific conference "Electrochemical Methods in Corrosion Research (EMCR) 2022" (https://emcr2021.sciencesconf.org/) took place on the island of Oléron off the west coast of France. The event hosted representatives of the leading groups dealing with the scientific and practical aspects of the corrosion phenomenon who delivered 50 oral presentations. Some of the results of the research were also presented during a poster session.

Among the conference attendees there were also employees of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology, who work on a project financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (Lider program; project number: LIDER/30/0116 L-11/19/NCBR/2020). Maciej Sowa (project manager) gave a lecture entitled "Corrosion behavior of aluminum and magnesium alloys with inorganic/organic hybrid coatings produced by plasma electrolytic oxidation". The results were also presented in the form of a poster entitled "Long-term corrosion behavior of 6061 and 2024 aluminum alloys protected by plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings with corrosion inhibitors" by Magdalena Stec.
