Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Electrochemistry RCH1

Although it is not so obvious, summers can be pretty busy for scientists. In the middle of August, our young colleague from Ukraine (a joint Ph.D. candidate researcher in the Biomedical Research Center of Sumy State University and the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of the Silesian University of Technology) – Yevheniia Husak attended the International Society of Electrochemistry Regional Meeting in Prague. The conference was divided into 7 distinct symposia:

• Electroanalytical Chemistry (S01)
• Bioelectrochemistry (S02)
• Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage (S03)
• Electrochemical Material Science (S04)
• Electrochemical Process Engineering and Technology (S05)
• Molecular Electrochemistry (S06)
• Physical Electrochemistry (S07)

Zhenia’s oral presentation on “Anodization as a recycling technology for fabrication multifunctional biocoatings” was given in the symposium S05. She says it was an amazing journey and that she met many curious people.

As a bonus, Zhenia visited the Institute of Plasma Physics of the CAS thanks to her friend Mgr. Ksenia Ilková, Ph.D. (Scientific Worker, Department of Materials Engineering), who showed her the Thermal Analysis and Heat Treatment Lab.
