The Museum in Gliwice is a place worth visiting today, and at the same time an institution with over 100 years of tradition. It was established in 1905 as the Upper Silesian Museum (Oberschlesisches Museum). Since 1945, it has been operating under the name of the Museum in Gliwice. Currently, it consists of five departments: Villa Caro, the Piast Castle, the Artistic Foundry Department, the Gliwice Radio Station and the Upper Silesian Jews Memorial House, and five divisions: art and artistic crafts, archaeology, history, ethnography and artistic photography. There is also an Art Reading Room - a space where you can encounter the most important phenomena of contemporary art.
