World Corrosion Awareness Day 2024 is already behind us, as is our live broadcast on YouTube!
This year we observed the corrosion process on specially prepared plates made of copper, aluminum, carbon steel and stainless steel in a gradually concentrated sodium chloride solution. We also examined the impact of the use of anti-corrosion protection (e.g. oxide coatings) on the process.
Analysis of the corrosion process is not the only activity in which we participated together. Thanks to students from the Student Scientific Club of Chemists of the Silesian University of Technology, we watched a popular science film for this occasion and solved high school leaving exam tasks in the field of inorganic chemistry and electrochemistry.
