Research activities
- Experimental strength testing of reinforced concrete structures:
- support zones of column and plate structures (punching through),
- continuous reinforced concrete beams,
- multifield column-slab structures in emergency situation,
- effectiveness of concrete-concrete composite on the basis of dynamic measurements.
- Laboratory testing of masonry structures:
- in biaxial state of compression,
- in the complex state of stress - shear with compression,
- in the complex state of stress - bending with compression.
- Testing of metal structures, including:
- load capacity and stiffness of susceptible connections to one-sided fasteners in bent section structures,
- strain capacity of girders with a corrugated web,
- analysis of models of complex objects taking into account imperfections,
influence of high temperature during fire.
- Problems of durability of reinforced concrete structures:
- thermodynamic modeling of corrosion,
- cathodic protection, electrochemical chloride extraction, realkalization of carbonatized concrete,
- advanced polarization measurements of the corrosion rate of reinforcement,
testing of protective properties of concrete, - evaluation of the effectiveness of inhibitors.
Publications
The results of research carried out in the Department over a period of twenty-three years (1994-2017) were published in 44 books, monographs and textbooks, 83 chapters in monographs, 605 scientific and scientific-technical articles published in domestic and foreign journals, and 607 papers in the materials of domestic and international conferences. In addition, 35 items of various types of training materials and guides have been developed.
