Visitors from Uzhhorod National University
On March 28, 2025, a meeting was held between representatives of the Silesian University of Technology and a delegation from Uzhhorod National University. Professor Joanna Polańska, Head of our Department, took part in the event, representing the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Marek Pawełczyk, who emphasized the importance of international scientific cooperation. Among the Ukrainian guests was the Rector of Uzhhorod National University, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka and Professor Taras Olesyk, Fulbright Program Fellow at Oakland University.
During the discussions, both universities presented their scientific potential, highlighting opportunities for collaboration in research, international projects, and academic exchange—particularly in the fields of bioengineering, biotechnology, aerospace technologies, logistics, industrial automation, and defense technologies.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between the institutions. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the Silesian University of Technology campus, the Biotechnology Center, and EHTIC in Zabrze.
