During our department's seminar on December 10, 2025, PhD student Karolina Kuliś, BEng, MSc, gave a presentation entitled “Genetic basis of type 1 diabetes: from GWAS to functional analysis,” in which she discussed modern approaches to genetic data analysis—from association studies to biological interpretation of results. The analyses presented, carried out as part of her doctoral thesis in collaboration with Oakland University and Uzhhorod National University, have yielded very promising results and provide a solid basis for further research into the molecular mechanisms of type 1 diabetes.
