PTBi Symposium 2023 is over!
The annual Symposium of the Polish Bioinformatics Society was held on September 13-15. This year, the largest Polish bioinformatics meeting took place in Gliwice at the Silesian University of Technology. In these circumstances, a large representation of our Department could not be missing. Michał Marczyk, PhD gave his oral presentation entitled "Developing tools to support decision-making regarding breast cancer treatment". Anna Papież, PhD and Tomasz Strzoda, MSc presented their results in the form of posters. Among the participants and presenters there were also students cooperating with our Department. Kamila Szumała and Viviana Laber presented their work results at a poster session. We are also pleased to announce that Anna Mrukwa, BEng won the competition for the best engineering thesis in the field of bioinformatics organized by PTBi. The work was carried out under the supervision of Joanna Żyła, PhD. Hearty congratulations and we wish you further success.
In addition to scientific presentations, our Department took part in organizational work. Joanna Żyła and Tomasz Koscielek sat on the scientific and organizational committee of the conference, and Joanna Tobiasz and Justyna Mika were members of the organizing committee.
Moreover, we would like to congratulate prof. Andrzej Polański, who this year was named an honorary member of the Polish Bioinformatics Society for his entire scientific achievements.
Thank you for such an active participation in the conference and we count on equally great scientific activity at next year's PTBI Symposium in Warsaw.
