EEBG Workshops
The East European Bioinformatics & Genomics Workshop was held in Kraków, Poland, from July 7 to 12, 2025. It was a great opportunity for early-career researchers and international experts in bioinformatics, genomics, metagenomics, and AI in biomedical research to get together. The program included lectures, hands-on workshops, among others, and panel discussions on cutting-edge methods and technologies in computational biology.
Two of our department's staff members gave presentations at the event. Professor Joanna Polańska was talking about precision medicine in neuromuscular disorders and whether we can help, and Dr Joanna Żyła presented a speech on "Pathway Enrichment Demystified: The Art of Biological Interpretation algorithms". Our PhD student Karolina Kuliś was there for the whole on-site programme in Kraków, taking part in lectures and hands-on sessions throughout the week, and was awarded a certificate at the end of the event.
Additionally, our students Anna Mrukwa (PhD student) and Ewa Radwan (MSc student) joined the event remotely.
