CoMPaSS-NMD consortium meeting in San Sebastian
Another milestone in the CoMPaSS-NMD project has been achieved! This time, the project team met in picturesque San Sebastian to review our progress so far and set the direction for future work. The event was hosted by our partner, Tecnalia.
The main focus of the agenda was the legal and ethical aspects of data sharing, which are crucial for the medical sector. Intensive discussions centered around the secure implementation of Federated Learning, which allows for the training of advanced algorithms while maintaining complete patient privacy.
An important part of the meeting consisted of two technical sessions, during which we analyzed the performance of our predictive systems in detail. We focused on interpreting the models developed for three types of data:
- Histopathological data from muscle biopsies,
- Limb MRI imaging results,
- Genetic data from whole exome sequencing.
Combining such diverse datasets is a massive challenge, but also an opportunity to bring a new standard of quality to the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases.
We would like to sincerely thank the Tecnalia team for the excellent organization, and all participants for the substantive discussions. Your suggestions and insightful comments provide invaluable support for the further development of our AI models.
