On October 29, 2025, our PhD student, Anna Mrukwa, BEng, MSc, gave a presentation titled “Development of machine learning models for segmentation and preliminary processing of lung lesions specifically on low-dose computed tomography” at our department seminar, presenting the latest progress in her doctoral research.
One of the results was the segmentation of bronchovascular bundles, enabling the differentiation between early lung cancer nodules and tree-like anatomical structures.
