The Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics conducts research in:

• quantum cryptography and its application in improving security of modern teleinformatics systems,
• security in IP local networks, including implementation and testing of new services in the Internet,
• optimization of hardware and software design of mobile systems, including:
  • signal aspects of radiocommunication,
  • software defined radios,
• optimization of digital data transmission systems including:
  
  • design, testing and implementation of correction and modulation codes,
  • efficient hardware implementation of the LDPC code decoder,
• applications of digital speech processing in telecommunications:
  
  • speech compression using signal processors,
  • speech synthesis,
  • speech and speaker recognition,
  • automatic speech translation.
