The pro-quality programmes introduced by the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology are an element of the University's development strategy, and their aim is to reward the current results of work while supporting further progressive scientific activities. Pro-quality programmes are financed under the "Excellence Initiative - Research University", from the Own Scholarship Fund, as well as from the University's own funds.
In 2020, the Rector awarded grants:
Grants and scholarships in pro-quality programs to support scientific development in 2020
Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, as part of supporting the scientific development of employees, doctoral students and students of our University, awarded pro-quality grants and scholarships from his own scholarship fund on the basis of the applications considered so far.

In 2020, the Rector awarded grants:
- to increase the ability to obtain international projects
- in connection with the employment of an employee in a research position financed from external sources
- for publications in TOP1, TOP10 journals, journals "Nature" or "Science" and for monographs in highly scored publications, under the programme "Excellence Initiative - Research University"
- in order to publish a scientific or didactic monograph
- to co-finance research related to combating COVID-19
- programme for proofreading of highly scored publications or patent applications
and scholarships financed from our own scholarship fund in 2020:
- for publications issued in cooperation with an author representing a foreign research centre or a non-academic partner, as part of the "Excellence Initiative - Research University" programme.
- for teams implementing projects under the Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe program under the "Excellence Initiative - Research University" programme.
