Start - MGR TELE SPEC – Mobile ICT systems (TSM)
Specialization: Mobile ICT systems (TSM)
ICT, Master’s degree (stationary)
Specialization characteristics
The introduction of the GSM digital cellular system in the 1990s began the progressive expansion of a new form of communication, where wireless transmission but most of all mobility granted almost unrestricted movement freedom to the communication participants. The development of information technology combined with the continuous evolution of mobile telecommunications systems resulted in a synergy that gave room for ICT systems growth. ICT solutions, where the mobility is a basic requirement not just an option, become more and more common. Application examples include telemetry, telemedicine, logistics, transport (e.g. fleet management), etc., not to mention some new perspectives related to Internet of Things (IoT).
Teaching content of Mobile ICT systems specialization provides knowledge necessary to design, built and manage such systems. Operational rules of advanced digital systems will be presented including analog and digital processing, radio transmission and its influence on the surrounding environment. Issues of web application design and mobile device programming will be discussed too. Referring to the mentioned teaching domain, there will be an opportunity to get some practical skills in:
- principles of mobile devices and web application programming;
- monitoring and information access protection;
- construction and performance evaluation of processing algorithms for physical layer of the communication systems;
- measurement and modeling of radio transceivers;
- wireless systems simulation;
- implementation of DSP algorithms
