Specialization: Autonomyous ICT Systems (TSA)

ICT, Master’s degree (stationary)

Specialization characteristics

The dynamic progress in the area of mobile systems has contributed to the development of autonomous systems. Autonomous systems are endowed with intelligence enabling decision making and controlling actuators. Autonomous vehicles seem to be the near future of the automotive industry. The specialization Autonomyous ICT Systems (AIS) enables the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the development and implementation of systems based, among others, on artificial intelligence. The subject of embedded systems is presented in a comprehensive way, using multi-processor systems on the MPSoC (MultiProcessor System-on_a-Chip) chip, in which software solutions are combined with hardware modules. During the classes, problems related to the information and electronic technologies (e.g. sensors) are discussed, which allow to determine the location of an autonomous vehicle in relation to other road users and landmarks, and to make decisions in the field of vehicle control.

The AIS specialization is part of the new trends in interdisciplinary higher education, combining elements of IT, electronics and telecommunications. The program of the specialization is based on three main areas:

  • embedded systems, including real-time microprocessors and multiprocessor-systems-on-chip,
  • artificial intelligence and deep learning neural networks,
  • elements of autonomous systems: interfaces and protocols, location systems, energy harvesting systems.

Student profile

The specialization is addressed to people who focus their interests on embedded systems, dedicated primarily on vehicles and autonomous systems.

Admission requirements

Studying in Telecommunication requires basic knowledge of electronic and information systems and devices, basics of programming and mathematics.
