Characteristics of the major
Information technology is an attractive field of study that includes the acquisition, transmission, processing, storage, analysis and visualization of information. This major provides an opportunity to find employment in Polish and foreign IT companies, manufacturing companies of various profiles, financial institutions and high-tech industries. During classes taught by highly qualified and experienced staff, students acquire broad knowledge in many areas of computer science. Theoretical knowledge is supported by practical exercises performed in well-equipped, modern laboratories. Thanks to the projects carried out during the studies, students gain practical experience, ability to work independently and in a team.

Student profile
This course of study is intended for those interested in both general issues of computer systems construction and specialized issues of programming, coding and information processing. People with a technical bent and those with a passion for science will do well in this course.
Prerequisites
Studying engineering on this specialization does not require any preliminary professional qualifications (apart from the matriculation exam).

During the course of study, students acquire knowledge in the following areas:
- Programming in C++, C#, Java, Python
- Creating algorithms and data structures
- Fundamentals of digital systems and their software
- Databases and data warehouses
- Computer networks
- Design of computer systems
- Various operating systems
- Advanced computer architectures
- Advanced data analysis using machine learning and artificial intelligence
Specializations
Particular subject areas can be individually developed in the sixth semester of study by choosing major specialties. Students can expand their knowledge within the following specializations:
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Computer Graphics and Software (CGS)
- IT Mobile and Industrial Systems (IMIS)
Additionally, in the last semester of study, students may select courses from the available pool of elective courses.
