POB5.T11 Digital transformation,
Digital transformation requires fundamental changes in all aspects of a business. Organizations must reorient their business model, strategy, organizational capabilities and business processes to be able to create value across the entire product lifecycle.
Management awareness of the necessary changes or a created vision is an important, but "only" the first step in the digital transformation of an enterprise. The next one is to work out a road map of this transformation, which will depend on the current level of maturity of already implemented elements constituting the Industry 4.0. However, as the results of the research show, the managers have problems with defining their current state of development in relation to the vision of Industry 4.0 and consequently they cannot identify specific areas of activities, programmes and projects. New methods and tools are needed to provide guidance and support in adapting business strategies and operations to the Industry 4.0 concept.
Hence, the sub-area "Digital transformation - maturity models, business models" includes research in the field of models for assessing the digital maturity of enterprises, identifying patterns of transformation paths, identifying success factors/good practices of such transformation and measuring the benefits achieved from it for manufacturers and customers, innovative business models, strategies and required organisational capabilities.
