Seminar on autonomous vehicles with the winner of the ERC grant
On July 3, 2023 at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering, on the initiative of the head of the Department of Transport Systems, Traffic Engineering and Logistics, dr hab. inż. Grzegorz Sierpiński, prof. PŚ, a seminar "Advantages and disadvantages of autonomous vehicles implementation in cities" was held. The special guest of the seminar was prof. Carmelo D'Agostino from the University of Lund (Sweden). The professor is the principal investigator of SUperSAFE (SUrrogate measures for SAFE autonomous and connected mobility) project, a European Research Council Grant, the most prestigious research grant in Europe and one of the most prestigious worldwide. The seminar was attended by scientists representing two internal units of the faculty.
The seminar quickly turned into a scientific discussion showing the multifaceted nature of the discussed issue. The topics discussed included, among others: road safety, social acceptance, environmental impact, transport infrastructure, vehicle-road communication and many others.
