Knowledge Base
The Knowledge Base is created based on the Order No. 106/2024 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, dated July 12, 2024, regarding the documentation of the scientific achievements of employees and doctoral students of the Silesian University of Technology.
The aim of creating the Knowledge Base is to provide easy access to information about the directions and results of ongoing research, the specialization of individual organizational units, and scientific staff.
The system registers publications, doctoral theses, patent documents, and other outcomes of scientific activity. The database includes achievements since 1988 and is continuously updated. Bibliographic descriptions are prepared according to the requirements set for the evaluation of employees and scientific units.
Authors are required to report their scientific achievements regularly.
University employees can log in to their profile by providing:
- login, which is the username in the polsl.pl domain (e.g., jkowalski@polsl.pl),
- and the password for their email account.
Publications, artistic and architectural works, achievements, and scientific activities are registered in the Knowledge Base by the Bibliography, Bibliometrics, and Scientometrics Section of the Library of the Silesian University of Technology.

Publications can be reported by:
- Delivering an original/copy to the Bibliography, Bibliometrics, and Scientometrics Section, Library, 2nd floor, rooms 205-206.
- Sending a link to the publication details.
- Sending scans of the publication.
Artistic and architectural works can be reported using a form.

Inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, know-how, and implementations are registered in the Knowledge Base by the Centre for Incubation and Technology Transfer based on completed and delivered intellectual property submission forms.
Solutions may be submitted where the Silesian University of Technology is the owner or co-owner, as well as where the Silesian University of Technology is not the owner or co-owner but an employee or doctoral student is the creator of the solution.
