Mechanics and operation of A&P aircraft
Students in the Aviation Mechanics and Operations specialization, outside of the education program (transport), complete theoretical and practical training to obtain the Aircraft Mechanic license, category B 1.1 - Aircraft with Turbine Engines, at the Certified PART-147 Technical Maintenance Mechanic Training Center (OSMOT PART-147).
After completing the full training program, graduates not only have a Master of Science in Engineering degree but also the right to apply for the Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic License from the Civil Aviation Authority. Currently, there is a high demand for individuals with qualifications in this field, as newly opened hangars, such as those at Katowice-Pyrzowice International Airport, face a shortage of licensed personnel. The constant growth of air transport makes it difficult to quickly develop sufficient staff, given the high time and financial costs involved. Therefore, graduates of this specialization will have no problem finding employment in the coming years. The development of smaller airports, including sports airports throughout Poland and Europe, and the resulting increase in the number of people needed to repair/maintain smaller aircraft should also be taken into account.

All theoretical classes (including specialized courses) and practical classes for students of the Mechanics and Aviation Operations - Transport program are free of charge. As part of their specialized training, each student also takes free certified exams and is entitled to two free retake exams (for each module).
However, the university does not cover the costs of airport travel, accommodation, or medical examinations. Students are also required to have insurance.
Completion of the full training requires completion of both a first-cycle (engineering) and a second-cycle (master's) degree. Completion of only one level of education does not qualify for applying for the relevant license.
Note: Students of the Transport program may complete additional (paid) courses and exams for the B 1.2 - Piston-Engine Aircraft and B 1.3 - Turbine-Engine Helicopters licenses at the OSMOT PART-147 center.
