Trip of foreign students to the Central Sewage Treatment Plant in Gliwice

On May 29, 2023, an excursion of foreign students studying Management and Production Engineering (2nd degree) to the Central Sewage Treatment Plant in Gliwice took place. The trip was organized by Dr. Eng. Simona Kliś.

Thanks to the courtesy and professional knowledge of Mrs. Renata Goryanowicz, who guided the group around the COŚ, and the translation provided by Mrs. Simona Kliś, the students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the operation of the sewage treatment plant. The trip included the technological part of wastewater treatment, the biogas generation and collection area, and most importantly, the waste and sewage sludge management at this treatment plant, along with the possibility of their subsequent management. Finally, the students had the opportunity to see the automatic control center for the entire treatment plant.

The visit was very interesting for the foreign students because in their home countries (Pakistan, Jordan, Algeria), they had no opportunity to visit a sewage treatment plant and see for themselves how it works.
