Cooperation with TU Bergakademie Freiberg
At the invitation of Dean Professor Aleksandra Kuzior, Professor Johannes Stephan from TU Bergakademie Freiberg visited the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology on 18–20 March 2026. At his home institution, he serves as Director of the “MBA International Business and Resources in Emerging Markets” programme and is a member of the Rector’s Commission for Education and the Faculty Council of Business Administration and Economics. Professor Stephan is also a visiting lecturer at Université Paris-Est Créteil. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Birmingham. He also cooperates with universities in Japan. Professor Johannes Stephan’s visit to the Faculty of Organization and Management in Zabrze was connected with work on preparing a joint double degree programme for second-cycle studies conducted at the Faculty in English. During the meetings, the team composed of Professor A. Kuzior, Professor J. Stephan, and Professor S. Lyeonov developed solid foundations for cooperation. Professor J. Stephan also had an opportunity to meet with students of our Faculty and to visit the Guido Mine.
Cooperation with TU Bergakademie Freiberg has already been ongoing for a longer period. During previous visits to Freiberg, Professor Aleksandra Kuzior also established direct cooperation with the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Professor Michael Höck. The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at TU Bergakademie Freiberg conducts research, among others, in the following areas: business-to-business marketing, corporate sustainability and environmental management, entrepreneurship and taxation, industrial management, innovation and risk management, international management and corporate strategies, investment and finance, accounting and controlling, information management and management information systems, international resource policy and development economics, public law, in particular resource law, environmental law and business law, behavioural ethics, and business ethics. These issues are, to a large extent, parallel to the topics addressed by the staff of the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology, which opens up new directions for cooperation and for jointly applying for projects.
