On April 9, another meeting was held in the M.I.X. series (meaning Meet, Integrate, Explore- no, it's not a new boy band, although who knows...). This time a truly international team gathered - 11 people, 8 nationalities, and each with their own cultural baggage and.... passport.
The main topic of conversations was names and surnames. That is, something we all have, but we don't always know where it came from (other than the classic “because grandma wanted it that way”). Participants shared with great enthusiasm stories about their names, traditions, and sometimes even family dramas like “it was supposed to be John, and it came out Jessica.”
We talked about the meanings of names, about saints, about who wanted to honor whom, and why sometimes a name is more of a diplomatic compromise than a choice from the heart. Some talked about religion, others about customs, and everyone listened to each other with such attention that for a moment you could feel like you were at the finale of “Millionaires.”
The atmosphere? Super relaxed and friendly - as if we had known each other for years, rather than just exchanging “Hello”, ‘Hi’ and “Merhaba”. The meeting ended with a choral: “We want more!”, because as it turns out - sometimes cross-cultural conversations are better than a trip.
The conclusion? M.I.X. is not just an acronym - it's a recipe for great meetings, new connections and a total broadening of horizons. And who knows, maybe next time we'll talk about cuisine...?
