Opening of the Student Activity Center of the Silesian University of Technology
A huge hall equipped with the latest technologies, access to unique equipment and the possibility of implementing your own projects - on April 21, the Silesian University of Technology launched the Student Activity Center (SAC) on the Katowice campus.
The Student Activity Center is a workshop, technological and laboratory facility for Student Science Clubs as well as students and doctoral students carrying out scientific research, PBL projects, engineering projects and diploma theses, as well as a place for cooperation and presentation of achievements at shows, conferences and trainings.
CAS equipment includes, among others: modern numerically controlled plasma burner, CNC lathe and EDM machine, 3D scanning and printing system, set of furnaces for heat treatment, melting and casting even up to 2200°C. In addition, students, doctoral students and members of scientific clubs, as well as high school students cooperating with the University, have a full set of power tools, presses, a painting and sandblasting chamber at their disposal.
