On 28 May 2026, during the Szymborska Gala of Science and Sports Eagles, a patronage agreement was signed between Silesian University of Technology – the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industrial Digitalization and IX High School named after Wisława Szymborska in Sosnowiec.

The Department of Production Engineering was represented by Professor Agnieszka Fornalczyk. The conclusion of the agreement constitutes an important step in building lasting relations between the academic community and the secondary school, while creating new development opportunities for students interested in science, technology, and modern industry.

As the Department of Production Engineering, we are pleased to begin cooperation with IX High School in Sosnowiec. We believe that jointly implemented educational initiatives, workshops, meetings, and projects will enable students to gain a better understanding of the world of engineering and modern technologies, while also helping them consciously plan their future educational and professional paths.

We hope that this cooperation will result in many valuable initiatives and become the beginning of a long-term partnership bringing benefits to both the students and the two institutions.
