On 8 October 2026, the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industrial Digitalization will hold the official inauguration of the 2026/2027 academic year. The Dean and Vice-Deans of the Faculty warmly invite students, staff members, and friends of the Faculty to take part in the ceremony, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the main auditorium of Building A at 8 Krasińskiego Street in Katowice. The event will mark the official beginning of the new academic year. A particularly important part of the ceremony will be the matriculation of first-year students, who will formally join the academic community. The inaugural lecture entitled “Extraordinary Technologies – from the Mysteries of the Past to the Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence” will be delivered by Dr Tomasz Mikuszewski.

The programme will include:

• the Polish national anthem,

• official opening of the ceremony and welcome of the guests,

• address by the Dean, Prof. Krzysztof Nowacki,

• matriculation of first-year students,

• Gaude Mater Polonia,

• speeches by invited guests,

• address by a representative of the Student Government,

• inaugural lecture by Dr Tomasz Mikuszewski,

• presentation of diplomas and Dean’s awards,

• closing of the ceremony.
