Student Housing Estate
The campus of the Silesian University of Technology is one of the largest in Poland. For years, we have been making every effort to improve its infrastructure. The university has an attractive housing base on all its campuses. There are 11 student houses in Gliwice. Katowice and Zabrze campuses have one student house each. In total, there are nearly 3,000 beds in single, double and triple rooms of various standards.
In Gliwice, all buildings located in the academic district are facilities where classes are held, there are also student houses, headquarters of student organizations, student clubs and a well-equipped sports base. In the immediate vicinity there is a clinic and a large canteen. In each of the student houses there are, among others: TV room, gym and table tennis room, washing machines. Each building has a fibre optic connection. Each of them has a local computer network with Internet access, available to all residents. In the student housing estate there are sports fields, car parks, places for recreation, entertainment and relaxation, and the premises of the Sports Centre are adjacent to the town: two sports halls, tennis courts, an ice rink.
The area of the Student Housing Estate of the Silesian University of Technology, including the student houses in Zabrze and Katowice, is monitored by CCTV since July 10, 2020.
The student houses also host:
- Student Radio Centre (DS "Piast")
- Academic Amateur Radio Club (DS "Solaris")
Canteens
Student Canteen, 24, Łużycka Street, tel. 32 237-23-47 - serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 - 21.00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11.00 - 18.00.
Assistant's House Young researchers and doctoral students can take advantage of accommodation in the Assistant's House located at 35, Kochanowskiego Street, tel. 32 237-24-68
The administration of the Student Housing Estate is located in the "Karlik" Student House, part A at 10, Kujawska Street, 44-100 Gliwice +4832 237-26-97; +4832 237-15- 85.
Information on vacancies in student houses for ad hoc reservations and student accommodation is provided by the managers in individual houses from 7.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
