Musical instruments – something out of nothing
Could the sounds that the creators of Star Wars provided to us during orbital battles actually be heard? Well, no… There is vacuum in the universe, which means that there are no particles that could vibrate and it is the vibrations of the particles that are responsible for the auditory sensations, i.e. sound. Therefore, even the most sensitive microphone that we would place in space would not register any sound. Fortunately, there is no problem with that on Earth, and thanks to musical instruments, we can listen to beautiful sound compositions. That is why we offer you to construct your own musical instrument from what each of you will find at home and thus start your musical adventure.
Tree
Together #zCPNwdomu you can make your own tree.
Why leaves are actually green? The source of the green colour of the leaves is the pigment called chlorophyll, whose task is much more than just giving the leaves a green colour… Chlorophyll is involved in the production of food for plants in a process called photosynthesis. In this process, under the influence of light, water and carbon dioxide produce sugar (most often sucrose and starch, which are well known from the kitchen) and oxygen, which we later use for breathing.
Do you know that…
Deciduous trees are less resistant to frost than conifers. The leaves contain a lot of water and their surface area is larger than that of the needles. Moreover, the leaves do not have a protective layer protecting them against low ambient temperatures. Therefore, in autumn, deciduous trees enter the period of dormancy in order to avoid damage (mainly in temperate climates). To this end, they shed their leaves and drain sap from the shoots.
Decoupage on glass
It's time to start your decoupage adventure. For people who have never experienced this technique, we explain that it consists in decorating a properly prepared surface with patterns made of very thin paper, usually napkins. We will show you how to decorate glass vessels, but this technique also allows you to decorate objects made of wood, metal, ceramics or fabrics. Interestingly, the decoupage technique was used by i.a. Pablo Picasso.
Bracelet
Diamonds, like other precious stones, are very rare and valuable minerals, distinguished by high gloss, durability and hardness. But if we look at the structure of diamonds, we see carbon… because they are one of the varieties of the so-called carbon allotropes, i.e. they are made of carbon, but have a different crystal structure and physical and chemical properties. Another allotropic form of carbon is graphite, which you can find in pencils. The value of diamonds can be proved by the fact that the most expensive bracelet containing i.a. diamonds were sold for $ 12 million (over PLN 44 million), and we offer you to make your own bracelet, maybe not so expensive, but just as impressive. You will only need a string. Have fun!
Christmas decorations made of cold porcelain
We come to the rescue of all those who do not yet have an idea for Christmas decorations. Make your own decorations using cold porcelain, together with #zCPNwdomu. This technique has been known since the mid-18th century, and it gained its greatest popularity in countries such as Portugal, Mexico and Great Britain. Note, decorations made of cold porcelain are not suitable to be used in garden – weather conditions have a negative influence on this material.
MOSAIC PAD
With #zCPNwdomu, we suggest you make today your own mosaic. Your mosaic will certainly be very modern, but the decorative technique itself, i.e. arranging patterns and pictures from small elements, has been known since antiquity. The oldest mosaics, those found in Uruk (southern Mesopotamia; now Iraq), were wall decorations. Their components were made of cone-shaped burnt clay (the so-called stick mosaic). They probably originate from the 4th or 3rd century BC. The Uruk mosaics were black, red and white
Pochodzą prawdopodobnie z IV-III wieku p.n.e. Mozaiki z Uruk były w kolorach czarnym, czerwonym i białym
OWL – SMART HEAD
Barn owls, little owls and tawny owls often inhabit buildings in urban areas? Since owls do not build nests, they use available niches as well as nooks and crannies of buildings. The barn owl and the tawny owl often inhabit spacious attics, but they can also be found in small corners of buildings. On the other hand, the little owl prefers small niches in the façade of the building or nests behind openings in flat roofs. Owls are not annoying roommates, so if an owl lives in your neighbourhood, do not disturb it. The barn owl is an endangered species in our country, the little owl is also quite rare. Tawny owls are relatively numerous in our country, but they eat rodents, so they will be useful.

PROTECTIVE MASKS
We know that protective masks are a scarce commodity, so with #zCPNwdomu we will sew such a mask today. We used a sewing machine, but you can also do it by hand. Remember also about the rules of putting on and taking off the masks! Before you start putting on the mask, wash your hands with soap and water or disinfect them with a detergent with a high percentage of alcohol.
The mask should fit snugly to your face, so carefully cover your nose and mouth with it. Avoid touching the mask while wearing it. If you touch it – wash or disinfect your hands. Do not wear a wet mask – replace it with a new, dry one. If you are using disposable masks, do not re-use them. To remove the mask, grasp it from the back by the tie, but do not touch its front surface. If it is a disposable mask – after taking it off, throw it into a closed rubbish bin, and if a reusable one – just wash it.
Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water or disinfect them with an alcohol-based agent after this procedure. We wish you good health!
HOW TO MAKE AN EXCEPTIONAL EASTER EGG?
Easter eggs, scratching eggs i.e. eggs with various decorations, are an inseparable element of Easter. They symbolize the continuity of life and its renewal. They used to be dyed with natural dyes – brown with onion shells, black with maple leaves or green with young grain. Nowadays, there are plenty of decorating methods, depending on the region and… fantasy. We recommend lining it with string
Easter headdress
Catkins are a type of inflorescence, that is, a collection of flowers placed on a common axis. They are different in colour and shape, which allows to precisely identify the trees they belong to.
We wish you a lot of fun
HOW TO MAKE A DECORATIVE VASE FROM A BOTTLE?
Do you know that a vase is not only a tall flower pot, but also an architectural element? Vases in architecture are either free-standing or directly connected to the building as a finial, e.g. of the balustrade. The one proposed in the video is even “free-hanging”
