How to deliver your work?
Personally or by letter to the Office of the Science Popularisation Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, ul. Konarskiego 22B, 44-100 Gliwice.
Remember that the works should be delivered in the form of a A3 format poster, portrait orientation.
Competition task:
A modern eco-city must provide its inhabitants with electricity needed to illuminate flats, drive devices or charge electric vehicles. Due to the city's location in Poland, it is also necessary to provide heat supply for heating houses. Electricity and heat must also be supplied to all industrial plants and public buildings.
The competition task is to present the idea of developing a city power and heat supply system for all residents, as well as how and where to locate individual energy and heat producers. Do not forget that a block of flats and e.g. single-family houses have different capabilities in this aspect. Remember that not all sources have to work at the same time, and that they can get different power depending on the prevailing conditions. It is important for the city that in any weather condition there is no shortage of electricity or heat. For the purposes of the task, it should be assumed that the city is located on a plateau on the lower course of the river. The city consists of an estate of high blocks of flats, a district of single-family houses, the city centre in the form of tenement houses (old town), a hospital, a school and an electric car factory.
Develop a city electricity and heat supply system with description of its operation in the form of a poster. The poster will be assessed and then it will take part in the poster exhibition at the final gala of the EcoCity competition.
