Natalia Osica

Founder of pro science (formerly Science PR) (www.sciencepr.pl), the first PR agency in Poland for scientists and science institutions. He specializes in building relationships with journalists (media relations). For years he has been involved in building the image of the organization, creating content and promoting experts. She gained experience in PR agency Lighthouse Consultants (3 years) and SWPS, where she was a press spokesman and PR manager (4 years). Then, for over 2 years she was responsible for cooperation with the media at Gemius, where she dealt with, inter alia, popularizing the results of internet research carried out in several dozen countries. He is a lecturer in Journalism and Social Communication at SWPS. He is a member of the Polish Association of Scientific Journalists Naukowi.pl.

In 2011, as the first spokesman for a Polish scientific institution, she was awarded the title of the Populariser of Science from the editorial office of Science in Poland, PAP (e.g. for commitment and quality of work). For the university, she won the Golden Clip for the best corporate PR project (2012) and the main prize in the 1st edition of the PRom Association of PR and Promotion of Polish Universities competition for the best project promoting science (2011). Nominated several times in industry competitions, such as PRotony or Lwy PR. In 2012-2014, secretary and then president of the Polish Association of Scientific Journalists Naukowi.pl. Juror in the Silesian edition of the Three Minute Thesis® competition.

A sociologist by education, specializing in negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution (graduate of the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of the University of Warsaw). Mediator for many years associated with the Center for Dispute and Conflict Resolution at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.

Even 10 years ago, the Polish media referred mainly to the achievements of American scientists (at that time I worked as a spokesman for one of the Warsaw universities and I remember those times perfectly). The situation has changed – popularizing their achievements by Polish researchers has become a natural action – even if they do not popularize, they are aware of what it is and what activities it is associated with. Many researchers treat popularization as something developing.
