How to deliver your work?

The works should be performed in A3 format, portrait orientation, and delivered in the form of a photo or scan to the e-mail address: wydarzeniacpn@polsl.pl.

Competition task:

The competition task is to build a station containing two identical solar cells. One of them should provide the possibility of changing the position in 1, 2 or 3 axes automatically or manually. The second, however, is designed permanently at an angle compatible with the standard arrangement of solar panels (in the optimal annual setting). After the station is built, the results should be collected and compared.

Suggested timing guidelines: the first month may be devoted to the station design and construction and the remaining time – to data collection. At the end of the set deadline for the competition task (in the period of a week), the team coordinator provides a report containing: description of the construction and operation of the station, conditions of the experiment, measurement results and a summary. The report is assessed as a result of the task implementation.

Introductory materials to the topic can be found below:

Information for the teacher:

The aim of the competition task is to build a station containing two identical solar cells, one of which is static and the other – mobile.

The result of the competition task is the verification and assessment of information whether it is worth changing the arrangement of solar panels by comparing the energy collected from a mobile and stationary solar cell.

The task can be carried out as part of the core curriculum in the following subjects:

geography, physics with astronomy.

Keywords:

cell, sun, energy, measurement, astronomy.
