The Science Popularisation Centre of the Silesian University of Technology celebrated its first anniversary in 2018. Scientists from our university decided to celebrate the first anniversary by… popularizing. The celebration took place on 25 March 2018, at Forum Shopping Mall in Gliwice. 3D printing, laser engraving, amazing shows of physicists – these are just some of the attractions that awaited the residents of Silesia, fascinated by science and modern technologies.

As part of the celebration, the promoters of Silesian University of Technology planned a series of spectacular shows and presentations, during which they explained the intricacies of science and technology in a simple but also very interesting manner. There were also stands waiting for the visitors, where they could i.a. fly on a drone simulator, taste molecular cuisine or print a birthday souvenir in 3D. Scientists have also tried to… turn copper into gold. There was also a smoking chemist's hut.

The visitors could learn more about the career matrix – an on-line tool for measuring and diagnosing soft and vocational competencies, as well as preparing competency and qualification balances necessary to determine the direction of professional development. At the Student Careers Office stand, you could consult your CV.

The party lasted from 2 pm to 4 pm An event for people of all ages. Among such a multitude of attractions from various fields of science, everyone has certainly found something for themselves.
