PAID LANGUAGE COURSES

The Foreign Languages Centre offers a wide range of paid courses at all levels from A1 to C2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The minimum number of participants required for a course to start is 10. In order to apply, an application form must be filled in and sent to an address given for each course below. Full payment must be made at least 7 days prior to starting the course into the following account: Politechnika Śląska,ING BANK ŚLĄSKI SA, O/Gliwice, 90 1050 1230 1000 0002 0211 3098, NIP Politechniki Śląskiej: 631 020 07 36.

The courses on offer and people for contact:

1. English Language Courses:

  • General English Courses (A1 – C1 level),
  • Preparatory Courses for TELC,FCE,CAE,
  • English for Academic Purposes – provides language instruction specifically for academic study. The skills addressed include listening comprehension, fluency development, oral intelligibility, academic vocabulary usage, critical reading and writing, comprehending academic lectures, formal composition forms and the key academic skills of discussion and presentation (B1 – C1 level),
  • English for Dean’s Office Staff – designed to develop the necessary skills for everyday communication with foreign students,
  • Business English – introduces a range of language associated with a variety of business topics and equips participants with essential skills used in the world of business for meetings, negotiations and presentations (A1 – C1 level),
  • Technical English – focuses on engineering terminology and communicative performance for the workplace (A2 – C1 level).

2. German Language Courses:

  • General German Courses (A1 – C1 level),
  • Preparatory Courses for TELC (A2 – B2 level),
  • Brush-up German Courses – tailored specifically to improve a chosen skill (speaking, listening, reading or writing),
  • Vocational German Courses for Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Administrative and Support Services, Tourism and Catering, Mining and Metallurgy, Agriculture and Forestry with Environmental Protection (A2 – B1 level),
  • Business German – introduces a range of language associated with a variety of business topics and equips participants with essential skills used in the world of business for meetings, negotiations and presentations (A1 – C1 level),

  • Speaking Courses – designed to enhance the skill of presenting arguments, expressing opinions, participating in debates (B2 – C1 level).

7. Polish as a foreign language

The Foreign Languages Centre offers commercial courses of Polish as a foreign language at all levels of proficiency: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. Our offer includes:

  • General Polish
  • Polish for Academic Purposes
Number of teaching hours (1 hour = 45 minutes) per week Number of teaching hours (1 hour = 45 minutes) per semester Price PLN/per person
1 x 2 hours (90 minutes) 30 hours PLN
1 x 3 hours (135 minutes) 45 hours PLN
2 x 2 hours (180 minutes) 60 hours PLN
