M.Sc. Taral Patel is a PhD student at the Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymers, Silesian University of Technology, Poland. He received his M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Marwadi University, Gujarat, India. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, India. His research the fabrication of organic monolayers on the surface of noble metals, creating multifunctional biocompatible organic layers able to facilitate cell adhesion, prevent bacterial colonization and tailoring different properties based on the applications in implantable biosensors and bioelectronic devices. The outcomes of his research have been presented in research papers, monograph chapters, and several national/international conferences.

Research interests:

  • electrochemistry (cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy),

  • lectrogravimetry,

  • cell adhesion,

  • antibacterial studies.

Projects:

  1. Multilayer electroactive coatings with hierarchical structure for controlled delivery of neurotransmitters, 2022-2027, NCN Sonata bis 2021/42/E/ST5/00165 - investigator
  2. Biofunctionalized organic surfaces for neuroelectronic interfaces, 2020-2023, NCN Opus 2019/35/B/ST5/00995 - investigator
