Dr Katarzyna Krukiewicz, PhD. DSc., is a specialist in the field of advanced electroactive materials and their use in biomedical engineering. Her research is focused on the application of conducting polymeric materials and their composites for the diagnostics and electro-assisted therapy. She authored and co-authored over 80 publications in the field of biomedical engineering and bioelectrochemistry, over 40 conference proceedings, and two patents. She was a post-doctoral fellow at the National University of Ireland in Galway, and a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge, University of Grenoble, and Helmholtz Zentrum fűr Materialen und Energie in Berlin.

Research interests:

  • application of electrochemical methods to study biological systems,
  • electrochemical synthesis of coatings,
  • surface functionalization of biomedical devices,
  • development of controlled drug delivery systems,
  • design of biomaterials.
