Centre of Climate and Environment Protection

On September 24, 2024, the Center of New Technologies of the Silesian University of Technology hosted laboratory workshops for students of the Silesian Technical Research Institutes in Katowice, during which young people had the opportunity to delve into the topic of waste analysis. Under the supervision of academic teachers, students conducted research on the leachability of pollutants from waste in terms of assessing their impact on the environment. The workshops aimed to increase students' ecological awareness and show the importance of responsible waste management and climate protection. Workshop participants had the opportunity to conduct experiments and analyses on their own, which allowed them to better understand the impact of waste on the environment and the role of recycling. The workshops were summarized with a crossword puzzle that covered the issues discussed earlier. The students' involvement was rewarded with symbolic prizes. The workshops were organized jointly by the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering and the Center for Climate and Environmental Protection.
